Borough/RSL liaison groups

We have completed a review of how boroughs liaise with RSLs. The review finds that borough level liaison groups work reasonably well but also identifies some good practice that could be adopted.


SELHP Strategy

The partnership's strategy for 2010-14 has been finalised.


Overcrowding and under occupation

Since completion of the main Strategic Housing Market Assessment (see below) 3 further reports have provided further analysis:

Overcrowding and under occupation in the private rented sector

Overcrowding and under occupation in the social rented sector

Profile of households requiring and occupying larger homes in the social rented sector


Shared ownership

A summary of housing association shared ownership (New Build HomeBuy) sales in SE London for the last 5 years suggests that the average income of purchases has not increased significantly but that the proportion of purchasers who are existing social housing tenants has continued to decrease.


Rough sleeping

An interim SELHP action plan has been developed aimed at ending rough sleeping by 2012. It includes a PrOMPT audit to identify the pathways into rough sleeping and the points in the journey where intervention would have helped.  The Audit is due to take place in SE London in Sept 2010.


Action Plan 2010-11

The partnership's Action Plan for 2010-11 has been agreed.


Activity in 2009-10

The partnership's activity in 2009-10 is summarised by a one page review, also by an annotated version of the 2009-10 action plan showing progress against targets.


Housing Market Bulletin

Our latest bulletin covers the 6 months up to March 2010. The overall picture is of increases in house prices and decreases in rent levels.


SE London New Homes Show

A new homes show, highlighting the availability of low cost home ownership schemes,was held on May 1st at Blackheath Concert Halls. A flyer provides more details. About 350 people attended.


Adaptations protocol

Following a review some revisions have been made to the protocol betwen boroughs and housing associations about the provision of adaptations to housing association homes

Private Sector Housing Stock Condition

BRE (the Building Research Establishment) has produced a report modelling the condition of private sector stock in SE London.

To accompany the report a Questions and Answers paper has been produced (by SELHP's Private Sector Co-ordinator).

Homes Out of London

The partnership is working with Town & Country HA to offer housing opportunities in the Folkestone area to social housing tenants who currently under occupy larger homes. More details can be found on our flyer or by clicking here.

Review of SELHP

In December 2009 Shared Intelligence completed a review of the partnership.


2009 SELHP Conference

The 2009 SELHP Conference was held on November 24th at Lewisham Civic Suite. The presentations and papers used at the event - and a feedback form - can be found on our Conference 2009 webpage.


In November the partnership ratified simple reciprocal arrangements for re-housing households fleeing domestic violence. The arrangements follow on from a Joint Working Agreement that was adopted earlier in the year.


The latest SE London Housing Market Trends Bulletin covers the first two quarters of 2009-10.


A (joint SW and SE sub regional) South London Overcrowding Best Practice workshop was held on November 13th in Croydon. Click here to see the presentations.


As a result of a customer led review of homelessness services in all 5 SE London boroughs, the boroughs have agreed some minimum standards for housing options centres.


The partnership's Wheelchair Homes Design Guide has been revised. The requirements of the guide are identical to the Greenwich guide.


Boroughs are working with an agency called Off the Streets and into Work (OSW) to promote the Career Move scheme that uses coaching to help homeless people address barriers to work


Our Think! Before You Leave Home booklet has had some minor amendments. Copies of this 3rd edition have now been printed.


The SE London Inter Borough Nominations Protocol was revised in 2009. A brief one page guide summarises this.
